Meet Katie Mandarano

My name is Katie Mandarano, I am the proud owner and founder of Dolce Vita Picnics and Events.

I thought I would use this space to give you a little background on myself and where I came from to get to this point and who is behind the brand.

From a young age I was always setting up little birthday décor for family members to make them feel special.

I am always the first person in my friendship groups to come up with a way to come together, buy a friend a unique gift, celebrate them or share in life’s grief/ hardships or celebrations in some way.

Hours are spent researching the perfect way to acknowledge any event as I just absolutely love doing it.

There is a great deal of sentiment and thought that goes into creating experiences for loved ones and now I am here to help you do the same!

Professional Experience

After completing year 12, I studied a Bachelor of Arts Majoring in Dance, I then spent time hairdressing in Sydney Strand Arcade for John Azzi.  Having worked for numerous companies doing Promotional work, from Sunseeker Boats working at The Sydney Boat Show and Sanctuary Cove Boat Show in Queensland, as well as other  Expo’s and Events for various international companies I gained invaluable experience.

My university studies and dancing experiences lead me to become a cheerleader for the NRL for many years and choreographed many routines for them. I also danced internationally and here in Sydney for The Sydney Kings Basketball team.

I have a diploma in Beauty Therapy and ran my own successful home salon for many years. 

Having successfully completed a Diploma in Event Management, I worked for the well-known Event Chain ‘Dockside Group’ who at that time was an Industry Leaders in Sydney to host many Elaborate Weddings, Conferences and Dinners in their stunning Sydney waterfront venues, Waters Edge, Dockside, L’Aqua, Waterview and the Italian Village to name a few. 

After taking time to start a family and introducing 4 beautiful sons into the world, it wasn’t long before I needed to use my creative mind again. 

With an extensive background in beauty, dance and events, these careers all share a common thread: creating, delivering and showcasing beauty.

So, I decided to go out on my own, to be a strong role model to my children and have the flexibility to juggle the hats of being a provider, mother and wife.

Hence Cherry on Top Events was born…. During Covid our ability to host events was taken away and so the basics were re-introduced to us. 

The simple ‘Picnic’ became the new way to see one another ‘safely’ and hence my line of themed picnics became a hit.

From Cherry On Top Events to Dolce Vita

This company was created by me 4 years ago, (2021) heavily pregnant with my 4th son! (as one does) Cherry on Top Events was the initial name.

Over time it has transitioned and grown, having a clearer direction as to where I would like to take the company, our new company name is ‘Dolce Vita Picnics & Events’.

‘Dolce Vita’ means ‘The Sweet Life’, it’s about enjoying life’s simple pleasures, luxuries and indulgences. This name resonates with what we represent when it comes to our Events.

Have a browse through our site, we offer many services however the one I pride myself on the most, particularly in today’s climate is Customer Service, old fashioned, genuine customer service. 

We do this so well, it keeps our clients coming back to re book their special Events with us because we care about the memories we are creating for you and with you.
